I've got a problem.

So some guy up here thinks he can catch more wolves than me. He is well armed with many traps and tools and he has a bit of a head start. He is goofy looking though and has a peculiar odor which is a disadvantage to him. I have begun preparing so I can prove to this guy that I will get more wolves. I am thinking about setting out some caltrops for him to slow him down a bit.

It was a beautiful morning to be out in the woods.

I found a nice big wolf turd to set on while LR5Ranger was off trying to find a place to make scat.

Made a set in an old road bed that was like digging in concrete.

The only photos that weren’t completely dusted out. I did make it to my sons football game in the nick of time, covered in moon dust. The first words out of the wife’s mouth was “how on earth am I married to you?” She doesn’t know how lucky she is!

Zero wolves. The funny smelling guy has zero wolves. It’s a tie so far. We’ve had some adventures and learned a lot. Maybe we’ll get lucky soon. Until then, getting ready for cat season coming up!

Got the trapping sled stuck in the snow with her bald tires and had to winch her up over a 100yds. Sure am glad I brought a 50’ chunk of rope with me.

Skinning demo from last week. Took my youngest boy and he had a blast watching the wolf skinning demo and eating hamburgers. He even got a free shirt from the inter mountain fur harvesters!
