Beaver question

Got to thinking when I have been skinning beaver does a person trim the excess front leg hide and make it shorter like the back leg so it doesn't lap over when you nail it in place? Thanks.

This is what mine look like. Some of the Canadians seem to find time to sew up leg holes but I think most of us do some version of this.

Yep, that's the way I do mine but as you have said I have seen some that look like the might of been trimmed and sewn together.

I do mine the same as above,

I close them same as with coons, castration bands.

Nail or sew ,no difference.
As long as they are closed.
