Just a few from the many the past 2 months. I questioned my retirement from taxidermy over 25 years ago. I found forms from 1987, lol. But honestly, at 65 years of age and just beat up and worn down from hard life, I'm having a blast bringing these deer back to life. My artistic background drives me non stop until my fur canvas looks alive again. The fleming buck today was 10 solid hours of work. I have a sweet shop set up nicely. Been having a blast now that I'm officially a taxi again

The bear skull display, oh what a project, I built the rock shelf from Styrofoam then 3 coats of plaster then airbrush and paint brush painted. About 2 weeks to complete. The skull, broken arrow. Broardhead all requested to be added by hunter. The skull was not bleached because the hunter had over boiled to clean it and it was almost falling apart. I didn't want to reboil it to degrease it so we glued it all together well and left it yellowed. The green mosses are applied using a static king and 3 mm static moss fibers

Nice!
Used to dabble myself.
One of my freezers went out last week, found a cape of mine dated 2011.
And one I know is older.
Probably 2000ish...

You sure do some nice work!
Are those "local" deer or do they come from all over?

I've heard of them painting skulls

but to get it right the bone vs teeth would be different and tedious

When a buck is in rut and they catch a whiff of a ready doe and start fleming, they look absolutely ridiculous just like what is depicted in that mount.
Bud nailed it.
