Sour cherries are on. - 06/04/24 08:08 PM
I have around 330, bearing, Montmorency type, sour cherry trees that grow along around 160 yards of my ditch line. They are just starting to ripen. I've been eating some of the cherries straight off of the trees every day. In 3 or 4 days, I'll start picking in earnest. I should be able to pick for about a month again. These are one of the tree species I am going to propagate by air layering. I want to make a U pick orchard of them.

The color and sugar content will get a little better over the next few days.
