Cool. Do you have the cradle to hang it? I've seen quite a few bells but I can't recall a Sears.

IM not into collecting "old stuff".....unless that was a nice horse head . I saw a lifesize one made of brass years ago. It was detailed and pretty nice.

Otherwise, Im streamlined and dont collect stuff that will clutter up the place... you could clean it up , hang it and use it to call the kids in to supper from the woods grin

That bell is worn at least a couple of hundred bucks, if it was around here. I think it's cool.

I have a township school bell, they’re the largest bell in the township and rung to signal the township to start school, they’re pretty cool and loud when rung in a shed by a drunk friend. cry

Not a church bell or school bell. That's a dinner bell. Rang that at noon to let the hired help know dinner (noon meal) was ready.......time to come in to eat.

yup many places had something like that , it was a return to the house signal.

Wolfie , you should hang it up outside your place

Fun. We have two family bells on our farm. My Mother says when they heard WWII was over they went out and rang the bells and so did all their neighbors.

Do some research, get a yoke and hang it up in your yard.

There was a large bell in the center of the little town which I grew up in.
Whenever we won a little league game, the whole team would run down to the town center to ring that bell, then we'd all go to the Tasty Treat for ice cream cones courtesy of the coach. Great memories of days gone by.

The amount of happiness and raw choking emotion people felt then must have been amazing.
