They were unable to get any yards rushing either. Yes a lot of players did not play but I don't feel that was the case with ND. Also they are very well coached. Always good to see coaching staffs raise the skills and outcomes of their teams.

Sounds like an excuse to me. Notre Dames defense is why they couldn't move the ball.

Really tell you what Take ND oh St or any team that had gotten this far. Replace the QB with a player that had never started. See how much it changes the way they play.
Any one that says it won’t effect them is just crazy. I said Georgia was done as soon as beck got hurt.

Hahaha..you poor SEC fans..finally getting exposed....if this was any previous "playoff" The four teams would have been Georgia, Oregon , Boise State , and Arizona State...not a single top four seed made the final 4! So much for the experts....and all previous "champions" . I'll give you Texas ..if you want them.....finally actually having to earn it on the field and look what happens? Lets expand to 16..no byes in the first round...all first round games are on the higher ranked teams home field...Btw....Georgia's problem wasn't their QB....let's see....special teams....can't catch passes.....foolish penalties...got out coached and out played....the better team won. Poor Byrdman.....probably become a Texas fan now lololololol

For the most part you are correct, BUT there are always exceptions. I'm sure you have forgotten or maybe you just didn't know, but back in 2014??? (might be wrong on the year) Ohio State lost their first string QB early in the ear. J.T. Barrett stepped in and did a great job but he got hurt in the Michigan game and was out for the year. In steps the 3rd string QB (Cardelle Jones) and he led Ohio State to the National Championship. His nick name was 12 gauge because he had a great arm. He led Ohio State in the upset of your beloved Alabama and then they went on to beat Oregon in the championship game.
But most times a QB who hasn't played much will definitely struggle as Georgia"s QB did, but not always. LOL LOL LOL

You are crazy Do you ever watch football ? This far is referring to them making the playoffs.
You do realize they were the SEC champion right. That’s why that got the bye. NOT because some committee placed them. If Texas had won they got the bye. The game beck tore his tendon. DONT MOUTH TOO MUCH. Your MIGHTY BIG 10 champion got gut stomped !! I guess they got that far because some committee put them there.

I thought his nickname was speed bump.
I’m sure these examples are alike!! Geez big difference in having 8 games under his belt before championship versus NONE I remember. Team they played in big 10 championship game didn’t have a winning record. Oh St only had 5 wins over opponents that had won 5 games or more. Not exactly throwing him in a fire to prepare. Wax that the tat 5 year. Didn’t suspend them fir championship game. Waited until next year All but one had gone pro or graduated. Lol Gift by a committee that let them play. Terminal Meyers left.

Really? So the GA team that played ND with out their starting QB was as good as the one that won the SEC championship. At least they could point to a factor that hurt them.
Why did the BIG10 champion get gut stomped?
Heck look back over the last decade. In fact until last year 94% of the time EVERY Big 10 champion got gut stomped in the playoffs! In fact the MIGHTY big 10 went 3 years and didn’t even score a point !!!! Zero zilch goose egg!!! Yes one year they didn’t make it but oh st and mich both got shut out , trounced, gut stomped. At least that’s one accomplishment the BIG 10 can brag the SEC hasn’t done
Lol lol
Your byrdbrain is mixed up again. Tattoos were under a different coach and a different year and different players. The 3rd string QB (Cardelle Jones) didn't have 8 starts under his belt. He had one relief appearance and one start in the Big 10 championship game before he started in the playoffs and beat Alabama and Oregon.
I know. We all know. But wait, I will save you from having to type it all out again. The Big 10 blah blah blah and Ohio State blah blah blah and the SEC blah blah blah and Alabama blah blah blah. LOL LOL LOL
So spin it however you want because we all know you are never wrong except well this time and that time and well that other time etc. etc. LOL LOL LOL

Re: Georgia/Notre Dame - 01/03/25 12:39 PM
As ive said before by the time you get to the end of the season SEC teams are so beat up from playing each other all that is left is the second string.
Oh state as well as ND have several 5 and 6 year seniors, GROWN MEN basically playing. Why MI. won last year then fell apart this year.
Back to back to back winning season's at a high level like Bama and Ga. did never happens to your yankee teams, why?
Once you get those then you can start crowing.
Duke is another example of top player's opting out or injured, they never had a chance last night against Ol Miss.
And WHY Ol miss's QB stayed in that game for so long is beyond me! Enjoyed watching him and was refreshing to see a star player put his team ahead of his own best interest but the million's he could of lost by getting hurt wasn't worth it from his stand point.

All teams have major injuries throughout the season, not just the SEC teams. LOL That is so laughable.
I can't speak for ND but Ohio State doesn't have several 5 and 6 year players. They have a lot of 4 year players and maybe a couple of 5 or 6 year players. There may be some backups that have extra years but not the starters other than a couple.
Nobody is crowing. Maybe just responding to the constant belittling of anything or any team not southern or not SEC.

At any rate any team can beat any team now, doesn't matter SEC, Big 10 or whoever. Duke may be the national champion's next year, just depends on who spends the most money. Alabama might win 5 games next year if they are lucky.

Re: Georgia/Notre Dame - 01/03/25 02:17 PM
Seems like this ALWAYS ends up in a SEC vs. Big 10 debate every year.
I grew up in Michigan, bleed Michigan blue, and have thought since I was little that the Big 10 was the best, toughest football conference.
When I got out of the service in 1996 and made my home in KY I started to pay more attention to the SEC and started to realize maybe I was wrong about the Big 10. If you have ever watched Big 10 football in person, then SEC football in person, the biggest thing that stood out to me the most was the SPEED of the SEC defenses. Not only were they big, but good gosh they are fast.
I still love Big 10 football and always will, but year in and year out it's tough to deny the SEC.
I will say this, the ND coach is top notch!

We're on the midst of a culture change in college football thanks to NIL it's already forced Saban out because he couldn't maintain the old culture and didn't want to deal with it . You'll probably see apy more old school coaches get out or move out to the non power 5 conferences.

If we're paying them.....
No more recruiting.
All players coming out of high school go into a pool, and we start a collegiate draft.
Worst teams get first pics, and so on.
That will create parity, and separate the coaches from the brokers.

I know a completely different ballgame, but the opposite of a class act last night. Anyone see Lane Kiffin running up the score? Supposedly, it wasn't his play call but a QB that has played for him for his whole career pulls something like that because of the roll model he has as a coach.

Didn't play anyone all year? Are you referring to the SEC? Once they had to play someone .....they all got beat! Love how you SEC fans are going to have to claim Texas ! Hahahaha priceless! No wonder all you SEC fans loved the old system of the good ole boys deciding who deserved to play for a championship. The experts picked the top 5 this year and they all got beat..so Lane Kiffin has to beat up on a terrible Duke team to save face....hahahaha "see....we deserved to be in the playoffs because we....well...we.....umm...we're the SEC and it just means more......right guys? Right? SEC..SEC..SEC.....and TEXAS...SEC..SEC!"...Lolololol

Re: Georgia/Notre Dame - 01/03/25 11:28 PM
I can't think of one SEC team that needed to be in the play off's this season but the crap that was in the play off's didn't need to be there either. All the play off's do is just get player's beat to death a little more, you still end up with the same two teams at the end you would of ended up with anyway in the old system.
Oh. state would of probably played Oregon this year in the championship. Oregon never played anyone until Oh. state and barely won then got ran off the field the next time.
But hey, if this is the kind of college ball ya'll want to watch go for it. I imagine a mass of SEC fans will find something else to watch sooner or later and then the big money will dry up and tv contracts will go to nothing, guess you can listen to them on the radio again like the old days.
NFL is the big deal up north not the college teams.
I'll never consider TX and OK as SEC teams! College football is all messed up now days, probably be as popular in 20 years as the womin's bad mitten team, lol.
