Wind was still early. We caught these all before noon. Biggest was a 14” female. The spawn is on at LOZ.

I broke the tip on one of my favorite rods. They are discontinued so not very happy about that.

Otherwise great day

Look like white Crappie if I'm not mistaken. Nice buckets full. Do you catch blacks also?

Minnows for bait? Should start anytime here. If the wind slows up a bit.

You're living up to your handle. Crappie will be close to shore soon here.

I don’t use live bait as I skip behind the cables and under the docks.

You can figure you have the first cove all to yourself after sunrise, after that, you are fishing covered water.

I came into a cove today, boat was pulling out of the RV bank I was wanting to fish. Wind was gusting 30 mph so this was a spot out of the wind.

Spoke to the a boat of 3 guys and they said to they caught 1 on that bank. I came in behind them and caught 8 to finish our limits. Everyone fishes different

That's for sure! We fish off the rocks on the dam of a lake. It's safe to use minnnows here. I see guys throwing plastic and they spend alot of energy catching nothing. It''s 8 miles from home so we can be there early and get our favorite spot. smile

Are you still nailing them on the chatter baits?

There was fishing tackle and repair shop near here years ago. That guy was a wizard at rod repair. New eyes were easy but he could put a new tip on to replace a broken one and you could hardly even notice a difference in the action.

My brother-in-law was a goofball and constantly breaking rods, slamming car door and trunk lids on them. I talked him into Ugly Stiks just for the warranty which they eventually denied saying he was "negligent" with his rods. Anyhow, that's how I know the tackle shop guy was good at repairs.

Maybe find somebody like that?

I'm hoping to make it over to LOZ this spring. Hasn't happened the last 2 years and ain't looking promising this spring.
But I'm not giving up hope !
