Are you still nailing them on the chatter baits?
I broke the tip on one of my favorite rods. They are discontinued so not very happy about that.

There was fishing tackle and repair shop near here years ago. That guy was a wizard at rod repair. New eyes were easy but he could put a new tip on to replace a broken one and you could hardly even notice a difference in the action.
My brother-in-law was a goofball and constantly breaking rods, slamming car door and trunk lids on them. I talked him into Ugly Stiks just for the warranty which they eventually denied saying he was "negligent" with his rods. Anyhow, that's how I know the tackle shop guy was good at repairs.
Maybe find somebody like that?
