Plant ID - 05/18/25 07:02 PM

The App I use to have now has a price to use it so I was wondering if anyone here has one or can tell what plant this is. It is in one spot of a hay field of mine. It has a fern shape/look leave system. It looks like Sainfoin plant but all the Sainfoin I have is red flower. Thanks

No vine a single plant that grows straight up. Fern looking leaf just like sainfoin.

Thanks to both of you and after I looked it up it is called a vine. I would call it a plant that stands straight up. Thank You both and looks like a wild flower and invasive but has value for cattle and hay.

Look at the Seek app, it’s free and works fairly well.

Does it produce a bean like pod? I pulled some up out of my junipers to give to the meat rabbits.

Alfalfa, crested wheat, brome and some sainfoin. A month ago I scratched in a field of mixed alfalfa/sainfoin and it is really starting to pop now with some moisture. I can't irrigate it yet so was hoping for rain.

From what I have seen the deer really like sainfoin. I have a small patch across the road.

Crown vetch is the purple flower bearing plant I believe. Our Penn Dot use to plant it along our highways and hill sides in particular to help with erosion after construction.
