Thoughts? - 08/04/25 03:51 PM

I learned Sunday that a pastor at a local church was taken out in handcuffs by ice. He apparently has been pastoring the church for the past 13 to 14 years, but he came here illegally.

Doesn't matter what they claim to be. They are breaking America's laws. They are criminals . Take them all out.

If he's been here this long, he had plenty of time to register as a legal citizen. But he didn't.

I would like to see everyone who came to.America illegally deported, if they don't bother to take the steps necessary to be here legally.

"Give unto Ceasar that which is Ceasar's"

"For all governments are instituted by God"

That pastor of all people should know that and accept accountability. Civil disobediance only comes into play when edict requires disobediance to God and even then consequences apply while trusting that God will provide.

The apostle Paul was arrested and brought before Felix where God provided. Paul ultimately excerised his right to appeal to the emporor and still God provided.

Hey, look on the bright side. At least it was for being here illegally. Usually, when they are taken out in handcuffs and arrested it’s for a completely different child related crime.

Re: Thoughts? - 08/04/25 05:49 PM

As a Christian and a preacher I don’t have an issue with his deportation. 13-14 years is plenty of time to apply for citizenship. And those who preach God’s word are held, by God, to a higher standard. His example of thwarting immigration law has probably been followed by others he influenced. Not exactly a good example.

If he has been trying unsuccessfully to get a green card and move forward with citizenship then I would be suspicious that his arrest during a service was politically driven. Not knowing the whole story makes it hard to form a sound opinion. And who knows, there may have been some other legal matters that played into the arrest.

I don't agree with a lot of government control, but laws are laws. If you don't agree, it does not give you the right to break it. Change the law, comply, or bear the burden of the consequences.

Core common sense Malum en Se laws are defined as wrong in fact laws such Murder, Theft, Trespass. Conservativism and Constitutional law is pretty much cut and dried on enforcing these.

What Conservatism and Constitutional law adamantly oppose is the ever increasing proliferation of Malum en Prohibitum or wrong by administrative edict regulation that erodes fundamental liberty.

In the case of this particular pastor he violated a most basic malum en se rule. He entered into and remained within a tribal boundary that he was not a member of. It's rather basic when you think about it.

No, I'm not. Reread that, slowly this time.

We as a society, as do all functional societies, have certain basic taboos that shall not be crossed. Conservatives, and one would think the left are in agreement enforcing these to the max.
The rest are the no spit on the sidewalk stuff that all societies need to stop fist fights over breaking wind in the wrong place. Generally conservatives will always question the need and must be convinced through logic and reason for their need.

We are at the point where the left is opposed to enforcement of anything otherwise taboo and instituting no farting in the privacy of your own home laws.

Re: Thoughts? - 08/05/25 12:29 AM

I found the news story. Daniel Fuentes Espinal was arrested after leaving a Lowes, when he arrived at a jobsite, for staying here illegally after his visa expired. He was not arrested at the church.

"ICE agents reportedly detained him outside a jobsite. His family said Fuentes Espinal had left Lowe's, where he was gathering materials for a carpentry job. After a brief stay at a Baltimore-area facility, he was transferred to a federal detention center in Louisiana, where he now awaits a bond hearing."

https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/.../65-4b535bba-0e01-4f5c-a8fa-b25933270279

Most media outlets are lying about this to support their liberal, anti American agenda.

If you read between the lines in the various articles. He was just another illegal construction worker, who was involved in his church, not a full time, head pastor.

Some folks whistle by the graveyard. They know full well that God is a just God and we deserve what we should get. Instead they paint themselves a rosy utopia of God is love. He is indeed a God of love but love is just.

The only part of questionable context is who he was addressing.

But the part that isn't , is what he used to drive it home in a way that everyone in the room understood. Use the gate. Everyone there, " Oh, yeah he has a point . ". Everyone understands that.

I've served alongside with folks who immigrated by way of using the gate. Many of them consider border jumpers to be thieves. I can't say as I disagree.

I didn't say that. Nor did I redefine it. I said He used that as an example that everyone understood. Discernment.

The example was a thief stealing sheep.

And they are stealing immigration resources from the people who are trying to do things according to our laws . Adherence to law is in Romans chapter 13. Our immigration courts and immigration advocates are tied up with border jumpers . People who chose to do it their own way instead of adhering to the laws in place.

Thieves and robbers. Because they chose to not use the gate.

When ICE is " rounding" up someone, the agents didn't find the first brown person to throw into their van. There's a process involved, judges are involved, warrants are signed. Many of those same agents are of the same ethnicity as those they are arresting. They are tasked with carrying out the laws that have been on the books for decades. Pursuing people who have been breaking our laws for years, if not decades.

I'm so surprised ( guess I shouldn't be) that this is controversial. It's pretty clear.

I fail to see what religion has to do with deporting illegals. If they are in this country illegally, they are breaking the law. The law says they get deported. Why is that so difficult for some to understand?
