Probably depends on what it was when you bought it?

I bought it for between $4.00 and $5.40 times face. It's worth $32.96 times face now. I did use it for collateral to buy my farm in 2012, before I got rid of my old house and Diane's old house.

It was at ~$15 in 2020, dipped under $20 in 2022 and is at $46 as I type this.

Pretty wild.

Wife bought it at $22 a few years ago and it didn’t take off right away I was worried she’d think I steered her wrong she’s not thinking that now. LOL

I never look specifically at just the "price" and never play the odds of "how much more will it go up" . Strictly a percentage guy. when it clears 22-25% increase, I sell.

Do you need the money?

All one needs to remember is the industry standard is .715 ounces of silver in a $1 face value of 90 percent coins.

Multiply $46.09x .715=$32.95 for a dollar face value of silber US coins

I skinned out a bunch of weighted sterling candle holders a long time ago. What would 1 be worth roughly and do the gold buyer places buy sterling that way?

Re: Silver ar $45.55 now - 09/29/25 02:20 PM

A troy ounce of silver weighs 31.1 grams. Weigh up what you have in grams, divide by 31.1 and then multiply that total by .925. That will give you the weight of what you have in troy ounces.

Most gold places will buy what you have. They won't pay what the melt value is. It costs money to ship and refine. 8r say 70 to 80 percent.
