Stink bug season!

Stink bug season! - 09/29/25 03:37 PM

Last few days the lil darlings have started congregating on the southeast corner of the house again....same place as other years...been stalking them with the soap/vinegar spray.

3 years ago there was hundreds, this year only a couple dozen...so far.
Anyone else notice a reduction in those stinkers over the years?

When I had chickens I saw them eat them, maybe all these "wild" turkeys are trimming them down?

Yet another unwanted, devastating pest from China.

I'm watching one right now. I think it's a bit early for them to be out in numbers.
They get into the house, and I can never figure how they do it. Last year I killed 50 stick bugs in the house.

If they are the brown ones that is the invasive one. One of the worst years ever here right now.

We got lots here GCS
All screen windows on the house had at least a dozen crawling on them yesterday.
This never ending heat and drought isn't helping.
Another week forecasted with no rain and temps next weekend in the 80's again

BP we get the grey ones here

Only one today....glad they're MIA, but it's entertaining in the afternoon hunting them down, lol, also saw the first lantern fly...supposed to be a lot just a few miles away but slim pickings here,.. he didn't get back to his buddies.

Gotta call ICE and get these illegal asians out of here!

This is the one I'm referring to. They cause a lot of damage in my raspberries early in the year. The immature beetles feed on the berries making them look ragged and brown on one side. This time of year the adults are looking for a place to overwinter.

The stink bugs are crazy thick here this year. Lady beetles not so bad the last couple of years. Been really wet this spring and summer. Don't know if that is a factor.
