Annnnnnd another one bites the dust. - 03/23/26 01:14 PM

Once again, another war related post, gets popped.
I come back today to check out the replies to my post regarding if there was a no war discussion rule.
Annnnnnnd, it’s gone.

I don’t know what happened. How it even potentially got off track.
So, I guess it’s pointless to try to ask legitimate questions about some things concerning this.
There are military vets here that know wayyyyyyy more than I do about certain military procedures and how things usually go.
Throwing sand in each other’s eyes and kicking below the belt seems to be more and more common here than it used to be.
Always been tit for tat here,.. been here a long time,,, since the early days of trapperman,,, but it’s really escalated.

Oh well. I posted once early on and it was pretty tame.
My biggest question is how Iran can block the 40km Straight of Hormoz with a carrier strike group and other assets close by. You'd think the Iranian Navy would be in shambles by now. Are they sneaking in mines at night in little RIBs?

I'm just pumped about the auction, and I'm still waiting for my castor to sell.........good times!.....lol

Years ago, when a post got deleted, then someone restarted the same post, they got banned with it too. Anyone remember that?

I was following, didn't see the last few (?) posts though..
Wonder why entire topics get chopped instead of just editing/deleting the individual posts that are problematic.

It was preemptive. It would turn bad, so I removed it. I'm doing that a lot lately.

Re: Annnnnnd another one bites the dust. - 03/23/26 07:44 PM

No one has time to edit the posts Crowfoot, plus if the topic is the kind to elicit such responses, it would do no good, because someone would just re-post another version of the ones deleted. That is why it was bad to bring back up the same topic that been deleted, and why the ones who did it got vacations.

Good call.
Preemptive strike. Proactive.
Other countries are upset that the US didn't give them a heads up about the strikes. Doing so would've completely blown any element of surprise and the effectiveness of the first wave. There's no way any countries would've kept it a secret.
Good job. IBTL......lol

Some here will deliberately trash a post that they don't like the subject of so it WILL get busted and gone. Seems like THEY should get banned too.

Preemptive strike

It's just smart move if someone want's to attack. Was the US supposed to warn them so they could try and move their toys and important dictators into caves? Giving any country a heads up is basically like warning Iran that it's coming. This is basic warfare 101 knowledge. Be it Putin, Trump or Carny's attack on our firearms. It's smart not to warn your enemies the heat is coming. This has been echoed by some of our retired Canadian Generals interviewed on the radio, will it upset some countries, yes, but it's effective.

I'd be honored if my nick name was "Preemptive"......lol. Shows that I'm proactive, not reactive. TCB before it gets ugly.

I'll answer. Legislated a buyback program for certain firearms. I believe they estimate about 100 000 of them out there out of the 20 million or so guns, although I know absolutely nobody in the wild who actually has a gun on their list. I'm 0 for 17 I guess. However, based on estimations, clearly there are people out there somewhere with one of them standing in the closet by the door.

They're constantly sneaking things under the radar without telling anyone, turning citizens into criminals over night. Good thing our CCFR (Canadian Coalition for Firearms Rights) is on top of it and is heading to the Supreme Court. Constantly getting letters/emails from our RCMP reminding us of the deadline to turn in our prohibited firearms. Unless you have Treaty Status, they're allowed to use some prohibs for hunting.
My M1A, PGW LRT 3, AG42, CZ58, M1 Carbine, cheap AR, Specture 12g shotty are a few that are safe queens. The buy back deadline is fast approaching, but there's not much compliance. The last thing our RCMP in the field want to do is have to kick in doors to take someones property, it's the high up white shirts that are bowing to our idiotic Public Safety Clown.
Pistol competitions like IDPA or IPSC will be a thing of the past once the last of us die off. 3 gun shoots are finished. It's bloody pathetic. Then I see all these guys using suppressed ARs with thermals taging coyotes and pigs all night just a few hours south of me......lol.....but not really loling...

Wasn’t it Patrice or someone with a coloured name fired up because a mod was deleting her posts?

Re: Annnnnnd another one bites the dust. - 03/24/26 04:15 AM

Actually, White 17 highlighted my name in red. I wore it as a badge of honor all these years. Yesterday, it went "normal".
I PM'ed White asking what happened, and said he didn't know, but figured Paul must have done it.
I haven't asked why. When Paul does things like that on his site, I am smart enough to assume he has his reasons.

You were no longer uncensored. You wore that badge for a long time, but recently it fell off.

This why with site rules and heavier enforcement ( needed ) , I spend more time in the DMZ. Safer there. Boss likes it.

Actually, no. I got suspended for a month. When I returned, my "name" was normal. After 1 year of good behavior, White 17 turned it red with the signature "Made It One Year Without Censor."
After 2 years, he adjusted it. Many years later, it has been adjusted again. Thanks Paul!

Well, back to the original question about mines.

I watch a Navy sponsored military You Tube explanation the other day concerning the mines in the straight. Many have been there for years, and there are multiple types.

Some were developed by China and sold to Iran. They look like a big metal tube and simply lay "dormant" on the bottom until triggered to fire. A small rocket with an explosive head lives inside. When triggered the rocket fires out of the tube, senses the target above that trigger the firing, and sends the rocket up through the bottom of the hull. No way to avoid.

There are 3 other types of mines in the straight. The Navy knows how to disarm all of them but is not ready to do it yet.
