I miss Pappas, and his Western auction house. He didnt give fur away.

Re: Fha sale - 03/09/18 04:13 PM

FHA held back the better marten, the ones that sold are in line with similar grades that sold a NAFA.
Don't know if they will try the private treaty for the unsold pelts after the auction.
I would sooner see them hold those and not sell them too cheap.

Re: Fha sale - 03/09/18 05:47 PM

Couple otter sold for 30 ish, no coons sold

I thought they threw my 1X-LG I-II squirreal away from three years ago. I guess not. Held back. Again. lol

Just checked last sale also and I averaged $20.00 on beaver.

Re: Fha sale - 03/09/18 05:52 PM

Ouch ... I have 60 on this sale. 50% sold and average was a pathetic $65.

Re: Fha sale - 03/09/18 07:10 PM

Ya had 46 in this auction only sold 32. Had two in the 290 lot and still only averaged 70. Pretty disappointed!

Re: Fha sale - 03/09/18 07:21 PM

I have 60% sold and primarily the better ones held back.

3008 for $118 sick

Re: Fha sale - 03/09/18 07:37 PM

ouch

sold 52% high 132 low 31?

average 64.05

Looks like for the most part the 1X and LG all sold and the 2X+ and Selects didn't go for me.

Bring on the PT sales.

Re: Fha sale - 03/09/18 08:31 PM

mine went similar...about 50% sold, $83 average in Canadian pesos. They might want to rethink their PR strategy when it comes to marketing wild fur because it sure isn't working, and that goes for NAFA as well. Think they spend to much time with the ranched fur.

$128 top for me. Lynx did better than Marten for me. Not the highs of $475+ a few years ago but $220 adds up. I miss high priced fur!

Well, no P.T. sales on my account. Guess they will be flying back to North America.

Everything flies back to Canada whether it sold or not. They only take the sample bundles to Helsinki. Then everything comes back to North Bay and the sold goods are shipped from there.

Re: Fha sale - 03/10/18 08:57 PM

Thanks for the clarification, Nancy. So private treaty sales, while possible at any time, are more likely after the goods/samples are back, or not likely at this time?

Part of the FHA staff have elected to stay a few days more in Helsinki and private treaty goods by showing customers the sample lots. Sometimes a buyer needs to think about whether they need to make a purchase or not.
