Anti trapping Proposal #56

Anti trapping Proposal #56 - 02/21/20 07:06 PM

Running behind on this, last day to comment!

Proposal 56 seeks to ban trapping within 1 mile of house/cabin/dwelling/mailbox.

A one mile circle is over 500 acres

A one mile circle is over 4 square miles.

If you have a problem with Alaska becoming an off leash dog park and giving the antis control over untold millions? of public and private acres you can comment here:

drasselt, do you think they would take in comments from people like me -out of state ?

Maybe my motto works in this also- it doesn't hurt to ask -or in this case- request..

I commented but I'm out-of-state. Don't know if it will help.

Yes they will take them. Observations from Outside areas that may have dealt with similar situations could resonate with the board.

When I was on the BOG, I can assure you that we sometimes got THOUSANDS of comments from folks outside of Alaska! Ordinarily they were generated by some animal rights groups and most of them were a bit loopy. Board members put more stock in local comments, but YES, they accept comments from other states.

Thanks to those T-man folks who responded!

A leash and posted private property should solve most all of this. I guess some think it's better to try to control everyone else than control their own stuff.

Those thoughts are exactly included in part of what I reasoned in my summery to them.

But here is the problem Tom.................... the leash would be better applied to the OWNERS.....!

Sharon thanks for weighing-in on this. I think we do best when we all stand together. I kicked in a few bucks a couple years ago to help against the Montana footloose bunch.

The BoG meeting will be in Fairbanks. If any are in the area you can also testify in person.

Sure thing, drasselt.

Like AK, MT overwhelmingly retains its history and folks who cherish their rights and the outdoors. It is the shrill voice of the anti that is heard in media , while the vast majority go about life outside of that. It is vital to keep those alien views at bay all we can. To allow a minority , change law for the majority is intolerable.
