Huge Tom cat. Any idea on state records?

My buddy got a huge tom in a coyote snare a week or so ago. It measures 24.5" around the chest, about 38" from nose to base of tail. It's kinda balled up frozen so can't get exact on length. Critter weighs 40 lbs. My previous biggest one was about 34 lbs if memory serves me.

Anyone know if there are state records somewhere to compare what a big cat weighs?

That is a huge cat 37# and 37" is biggest i've gotten out of several hundred!

Wow, that is big. I don't think I've ever gotten one over 30 lbs.

my biggest was 42" nose to base of tail. Just above 40 pounds. I got three from one set around a kill site. Seems that the group I got packed up and take down caribou.

Just looked it up.Believe it or not the state record for a bobcat here in Maine is 76 pounds.

My biggest is 31# so far and the smallest was 21#. Just started trapping lynx this season and having a lot of fun with them.

I just picked one up last weekend that weighed 39.4 lbs. That's the biggest one I've ever gotten. Most are 20-30 lbs. I will try to post some pictures.

FYI, I picked up seven kitties last weekend too. Not a bad haul.

Here is the cat and the weight on the scale before and after. So 39.2, sorry, not 39.4. The first time it was 39.4. A solid 39 lbs. though!

I don't know any State weight records but I have a 42+ pounder mounted in my gun room.

I had one in Wyoming in the early 70s was 48 lbs and 52 inch stretch biggest cat I ever had it did have a belly full of fresh venison always wish I had it mounted life size had a partner then in his 70s who trapped since he was a kid and never saw one that big. I get one every several years that breaks 30lbs. last few years very few cats no kittens and barren females no rabbits.

38# is my new biggest. Just shot it off my bait pile on Saturday. Huge and full belly.

Lynx and bobcat are different in wts. Bobcat is a bigger animal on average. No trouble to read up on it.
