Moving to Petersburg AK - 01/11/22 07:54 PM

Hey guys, just took a seasonal job in Petersburg working at a lodge from mid April through the summer. Looking to hopefully turn it into a full time job around the same area. Anyone in the area that would be willing to lend any advice or want to talk trapping while I'm there? Im a pretty experienced trapper having 4 seasons in indiana and 8 seasons here in Mississippi. Leaving the army in February and just looking for a change of pace.

Thanks to anyone willing to lend advice! Hoping to eventually have a trapline in alaska one day.

Welcome aboard Ranger and good luck transitioning to a new career field! If you are on Facebook join the "Alaska Trappers Southern Southeast Chapter", might be some guys on there that are not on here.

Welcome. You will find trapping here in southeast MUCH different than what you are used to. To say the least.
