BOG confirmation hearings are scheduled for this coming Wednesday April 20th, 2022. With that said I’m urging you to submit a public opinion message showing your support for Allen Barrette.
Special interest groups are working very hard to oppose Al.
Submitting a public opinion message is easy. Simply:
1. Open the following link and enter your personal information: Alaska State Public Opinion Message System: Communicate with your legislators (akleg.gov)
2. Click on choose recipients
3. Click on Send to All Legislators. Then select write message
Or you can call in. At 1:00pm ask to be place in House Resources to testify for BOG conformations.

You can bet the dog people are out to replace Al.

It's not just the anti's. The RHAK (Resident Hunters of Alaska) are all exercised about BOG members having guide licenses. You cannot make this stuff up. Hunters/trappers can be our own worst enemies.

For one thing Al is a game law geek (expert!). He studies game law for fun and on his own time so he is well versed before he even sees a proposal.

I sent my comments, and received a reply from Jesse Kiel. A joint meeting for confirmation, (or not), is expected in the next two weeks.

Is it best to try to time a POM to the actual confirmation meeting? If there's no meeting for a week or 2 and I send it now will they even pay attention/remember it?

I heard a rumor the the Jiont Floor Session will be 27 april. When i know for sure, i will post it. As for who will pay attention to your comments. There are legislators who just don't like the Governor and will not support any of his appointments. There are always some who are sitting on the fence and your comments may persuade them.

I did not see a Joint Floor session scheduled for this week, for conformations votes to boards and commissions. If you have not summitted a letter, you still have time to.

The Joint Floor session votes on board appointments will be May,4 at 11:00am. you still have time to send in letters of support to the legislators,

Today is the vote on appointees. It is also Star Wars Wednesday.

May the fourth be with all the appointees.
