possums not coons

Anyone else only catching possums when coon trapping
And how do I catch more raccoons and less possums

What kind of sets are you using? I don't trap much coon, but you will generally catch a few possums in your coon sets no matter what you do.

I mostly use dog proofs with fish as bait

If you only want to catch coons I’ve heard that you use crawfish oil, or catch a crap ton of possums.

I put dog food in my dog proof then put fish oil on it but if you put crawfish oil on it it’s supposed to catch coons not possums. Never tried it though

Put a soup can over a dog proof

Every trapper gets the opossums. Once ya thin them out you will get more coon. A tip is to set 2 or 3 sets at each location. That way if a opossum comes by first ya still got 1 or 2 more sets working for the coon that come by! The dog-proof traps will miss nearly all opossums. Try a couple of those!
