Re: Talkin' Trappin' - 08/11/20 02:48 AM

Lol. It was the first time I set water traps by myself. Here’s the story: I got and set traps for muskrat, fall in a hole and stepped on a beaver, and caught an otter

Re: Talkin' Trappin' - 08/11/20 02:53 AM

Re: Talkin' Trappin' - 08/11/20 02:54 AM

I fell in a hole and stepped on it. (The beaver was not injured by this)

Lol
Would it smell like essential oils like maple since they eat a bunch of bark like maple bark for example??? Or like aspen essential oil?? No wonder beaver is a good meat base for bait they are nature's edible air wick!

Edit: Idk why I said this but no, I am in fact, not on any drugs, so stop messaging me

Re: Talkin' Trappin' - 08/11/20 06:11 PM

I went almost 50 years without getting bit by a trapped muskrat. That ended when I was bitten twice. One was when I reached into a rat house to pull out what I thought was a deceased rat.The second when I reached under the water to retrieve a down and out muskrat, that turned out--to not be down and out.

Last year I caught my personal best beaver at a castor mound. He got the trap off his foot, but due to the slack cable ( lesson learned) he tied a perfect knot around his foot, and was at the bottom of my drowner. I’m sure I’ll never see anything like it again in my life.
