That one in the center from today is the prettiest coyote thus far. Sure be nice if they all looked like her. We get a mix of every thing color-wise around here, except black, so its nice to see a good one once in awhile.

James the two in the foreground of that picture are prettier than my best one of this year ! Heck they are better than anything from my last three years, sad but true lol !

Keep killing them !

But then the pretty ones would not be worth as much

Nice by the way

Thanks buddy. My snare line is doing pretty good. Skinned 8 today, that's enough for me. lol

They don't all cooperate but most are DOA with these little springs. I've been getting my coyote snares from www.roadrunnersnares.com I couldn't be happier with them.

ADC,
Great job! Can you elaborate on your system with the kill poles?
Thanks

Those are nice colors for sure! Just lacking the long fur that our coyotes have. If they had the longer fur those would be $125 each!

Awfully simple these days. 5' long 1/2" rebar. #9 wire welded with the tag end sticking out to keep the adjustable loop end snares from sliding off the end. Drive them with a fence post driver.

Thanks. Ever get any bent poles? How about your snare set up and how big of springs on them? Do you have compressed springs on most catches?

Lots of them bend the poles slightly. I just bend them back straight as I can before I pull them out of the ground. Most times there is no issue at all. I'm just using 4-5' snares 3/32" with deer stop (have to by law) BAD, mini camlocks, and kill springs (I think 40#). The springs are compressed most all the time. I'm going to run a few extension cables on my good locations so I can save the location hopefully, but they are a pain to keep organized when you're running very many snares, so I typically just move down the trail.

Do you have a photo of the snare set on the pole for how you have it set up ?

I am assuming these are from last winter. Great job.
No ones to skin 8 or more in a day.

Nice setup. Now maybe I missed it but are these used in blind sets?

I don't sorry. They are just adjustable end loops cinched down on the pole and the snare loop held with a steel wammy off the #9 support wire.

Yes. I just set them over the trails where I expect coyotes to go.

Do you put the loop above or below the support wire ?

Below coydog2. They hang like these coon snares only a bigger loop 10-12" up off the surface of the trail (higher if its not a deer trail) ...

Jamie is it safe to assume that a catch circle with a snare will require moving down the trail a ways ? Just noticed the awesome looking fence crossing, would a fresh snow make it usable again ?

I reuse the fence crossings, just block it back down some if they clear it out. And yes, I move down the trail to a ways if I'm snaring open ground.
