How many rat's do you harvest from huts

This will be my first year rat trapping and was curious how many rat's do you trap from a area per hut?

Keep trapping till the catch starts to drop off.
I make 2 back to back checks the I let them soak for 2 days then I check and leave them for 2 more days then On the next check I pull. You should have taken the majority of the rats on the first 2 checks.

Don't worry about leaving any seed you can't catch them all.

This is actually the first time in a few years we've even seen any huts. Hurricane Sandy really cleared things out.

Most huts I put 3 traps per hut and pull them once my catch number drops.

I wonder how often another trapper comes along after you're done and cleans out some more

I usually set for 2-3 days and move on, I trap more feed beds than houses and open water baited conibears- I’m never sure what address they come from. To your point AJE- I watched some high school kids set the same area I trapped late fall when I was ice fishing last year. It was nice to see them having fun.

Probably not often as ive been trapping the same lakes and marshes for quite some time with good success

If you have good rat habitat new rats will fill In the vacant areas.

IMHO......Trapping pressure is a stimulus, particularly in muskrats

And that's a fact.
