Blue coyote - 12/20/19 03:41 AM

Caught a coyote on December 16 in southern Indiana. When I fleshed her out she was blue as she could be. Haven't seen one blue this late around here. Could it be the drought conditions over the summer? Not sure what to make of it as I usually don't start until after Christmas due to work. So I'm used to having fur issues, just not blue ones.

Be glad you got a blue coyote and not a green one

It'd be interesting to see a picture of your blue coyote.

So this coyote was possibly almost a month earlier than you are used to seeing? It is probably right on track then.

Fur primes up the same every year

But what does it’s fur look like, long guard hairs w/ good under wool?

Or is it weak fur ?

Seems lots of female furbearers who birth young may not even prime up completely the following winter in my experience. Ran into this with otter and coon for sure.

At this time of the year don't worry about the leather color, the fur Is prime.
