Sold fur tonight - 01/18/20 03:56 AM

Just got back from selling coon hides. 29 coins = $103.00. $3.55 average. The truck was 2.5 hours late. My buddy and I met at 4:15 pm to sell. Got home at 9:00. We only had to drive 20 minutes to get there. I told him that if you only count the 5 hours from tonight, we made $20/hour. Now, if you count the cost of equipment, gas, and time running traps, I’m guessing we didn’t come out so well. At least I averaged .09 cents mire than him! Lol

That average seems low, even in this market (for put up fur). I hope I do better than that.

I'll put them for $10.00 over carcass coons. I enjoy putting them up. Seems like everybody gets more for their fur than I do.

If you are getting $14 average in today's market I'd say you are doing well LDW.

I know that grading is not a major factor in today's very low prices but west-central ILL coons what are they typically? Centrals, semi heavies, northern centrals, western northern's etc. That would help for myself to determine if those prices were on board for coon of that type and also when caught factors in as well.

The market favors BIG coon This year. The 3X and bigger, non-sows and a decent put up. Anything smaller is going to take a significant hit. Next year, put your coon up or have someone do it for you. At least with your bigger coon, you’ll do much better.
