Bridger 1.5 OS vs Bridger #1.75 OS - 02/06/20 03:00 PM

In a comparison between the Bridger 1.5 OS and the Bridger 1.75 OS the only difference I see is that the 1.75 weighs approximately 0.2 lbs more. What makes the 1.75 more suited for bobcat or even coyote than the 1.5?

I am currently using Bridger #2’s and don’t own any of the 1.75’s. I did buy 4 of the 1.5’s and added base plates so I could center swivel them but haven’t used them yet.

The overlapping design of the base on the 1.75 is heavier build and comes center swiveled. The swivels are also heavier. The weak point is the pan and dog. I caught several bobcat and coyote in them but eventually settled on all MB550.

Thanks OkieCntry, I hadn’t thought about the pan and dog being lighter.

I think the Bridger 1.75 is a great trap. Yes, I too think the pan and dog are weak. ( I know for a fact). But I sure do like the trap so I made a few mods to a couple dozen new ones and plan on doing the few dozen I already own just like the pictures show. Beefed up pan and got rid of the dog ! I know that johnnys pan mod and trigger mod is way better than having the dog on them traps. set easy and they trip just like they should im loving this little trap. oh and its easier to dig a trap bed that's small in this frozen Illinois ground than to try digging out a bed for a number 3 bridger. thanks again johnny

Only difference is one is round and the other is square.
