I hope they keep the quality up. The Sleepy Creek #4 1/2 LS is about the most stout LS I've come across. Heckuva nice trap. And the #11 LS is very, very well made. Versatile trap for coon, skunk, mink, rat and I've heard will hold otter.

They need to go back to the old style #11 with the round pans though. Those 4 1/2's are stout traps!!!
The business has been bought by NEW OWNERS
They will bring back Sleepy Creek but in NEW headquarters (moving all equipment from West Virginia)
They are well established in the "trapping world" and great people
Same great traps with maybe a few improvement tweaks

I asked the question what will happen to all the equipment and maybe someone would buy it and restart. I've wondered what happened to a lot of the trap making equipment over the years. I'm sure some were just flat worn out but I wondered where what made traps like the Triple J, Woods n Water, Northwoods, Lambsaver, Bigelow are today. About all modern traps are sure better but it'd be neat to see some of them made and sold on a limited basis again.

Why round pans?
Pan attachment, dog engagement and size. Not really about the shape.
I prefer the round pans, maybe the old school in me, never even accepted cable stakes, lol.

I changed a bunch of my SC 11’s , I bought #1 pans, they fit right on.
I went to the nta last yr. A tailgater had a dz of the #11 with rd pans. I got them for 60.00. The traps was like new. Well worth the 60.00.

I don't see who bought them. I love their traps. I hope they keep going with the double long 3 and 4, and 4.5. The TNT is a great trap too
By TNT do you mean the 440 Nitro thay came out with before they closed?I never got close to one. What were your thoughts on it?

Hope that's true...Brian McKee is a heckuva fella.
Anyone know when they are going to start manufacturing again? I'm curious to see what improvements they do

That would be sweet! "The 3N sleepy creek"
A select few models of the SC DLS trap line will be the first to be manufactured
It will be many months down the line as all machinery is still in WV
Good news I want to try the 4.5 dls for beaver and otter.

Sleepy Creeks body grip setters also set their DLS traps. You'll need setters for those 4 1/2's.

I have about all of the setters and these are hands down way better than all the rest, IMHO.

Trap SetterI am unfamiliar with those type setters. What holds the one compressed lever down?

You still put a U clip on it and then compress the other spring. Just a lot easier to compress the springs with this to me. Way better than the Sleepy Creek setters.
