Removing FMJ from Snares - 07/01/20 06:36 PM
I have recently bought some new snares and degreased them and dipped in FMJ. The finish is too shiny so I'm wanting to take off the FMJ and dye them.
Going to boil with baking soda and something with tannic acid like pecan shells. Is there anything I need to do prior to this to take the FMJ off? I'll be setting the snares up in south Texas so wasn't sure if there would be a better substitute for pecan shells.
Thanks in advance!
