TNcat, push-pull are no longer dog proof. A dog sticks his paw in and gets tagged when he hits the trigger.
Not true. The size of the hole is what makes them "dog proof" has nothing to do with the trigger. There are no truly dog proof tube type dp traps, only dog resistant. I've been using various DP designs for over 20 years, and I have use a lot of different ones.
ADC, my female Lab found her way into one. My Dad's Jack Russell also got tagged. I got rid of all of my push-pulls. Besides, until coon prices go up, my DP's will hang in the shed. Only 2 buyers in MN are even taking them. They aren't worth getting your fingernails greasy.

If you think the pull only are dog proof, you are dead wrong. Dog resistant at best. The biggest dogs can get caught in a pull only DP, not the way you imagine but they can get caught in them. I've seen a bear and a coyote, and loads of foxes caught in them as well.
I guess that is up to you, if you decide to admit you are wrong and take advice given, or stick your head in the sand and not see the things that are right there in front of you.
