Trap Preparation - 01/03/21 11:05 PM

I used to always dye and wax, but the last couple of years I've been spray painting and dipping my traps in Zep's floor polish. I typically just spray paint my water traps. What do you prefer?

Do you not dye/paint the dirt sets?

Bigfoot, I do not. I just get the oil off them so they are nice and clean and then I wax them. I figured it doesn’t really matter what they look like since they are buried

All footholds = just rust & wax
Conis = either just light rust or dye & no wax

I am not a water guy. I spray paint all my traps. Probably do some shortly that are to arrive in the mail and set them the next day.

here's over 140 threads on what we do: https://trapperman.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/13/1/trap-preparation-archives

My water traps get the 60-40 Acetone-Rustoleum treatment
Land traps get only wax, no dye.
