Thats a really good question. Because I'm a mixed species trapper. I always got alot out. But alot of it depends on what weather does. If it going to get freezing, obviously, I pull my beaver, muskrat, and mink sets. If its going to snow alot. I pull my leg holds and dps and set out more snares. It varies from alot to a little to alot again. I know the most snares I've ever had out at a given time was 75. Most dps was 30. Most beaver sets was 15. Most muskrat sets was 20. Mink is never alost, 8. And most coyote sets is 25.

When I was trapping In ND probably had out at least 300 traps at one time.

Depends a lot on the target species. Start of the season (rat and coon) - 200-250. On December 1st (or Thanksgiving weekend), I pull everything and I switch to coyotes - 50 sets, Christmas to February pick up beaver and still after coyotes so it increases to about 85 sets. A mix of 80% BG's 20% footholds and then snares in the late December to February which switches to 50% Snares and 50% footholds and BG's. February to the end of season, strictly rats and beavers so have about 60 out of 20 BG's sets, 20 snare sets, and 20 foothold sets. Does not matter how many,,,,,, its Where they are at that makes success. This is part time trapping with 45 hr. week and a long weekend when I was working. Retired now for 3 years and it seems to be about the same #'s. With the market as it is i will probably cut everything in half this year........................................... the mike

Depends on what I’m trapping. 20-40 coyote sets. 30-60 coon, sometime 100 rat traps. None at the same time.

Really is species and time of season dependent for me.
Open water rats in marshes 150 plus
Open water river rats 75 or so 25 for coon now to protect feed beds when coon are higher maybe another 50 or so.
Dry land coon fall 7-9 dozen
Dry land fall canine 25-30 with coon line
Through the ice rats up to 60-80 with early ice, down to 50 or less when it is 6-8 inches. Still use a spud and not getting younger., It gets a dozen or so less every year now.

My son and I will put out around 100 for coyotes/cats. A few dozen for coons. We're getting in the water this year too.

Probably 12 to 18 depends on weather n work schedule.
