Fisher wire cubby question - 11/01/21 02:49 PM

How are you fisher guys wiring your baits to the back of your wire cubbies so they don't fall out on vertical or leaning sets. First year attempt at Fisher. Much thanks.

My Noonan Wire cages have placed two loosely crimped clips only on one side, to form a hinged wire door inside the cage. I use large spike to hold the door closed.

You can see the bait and spike holding the hinged divider/door up. The other spike is placed between the jaws(#155) on the loose side. This fisher died instantly never shook the trap free from the spike. There is moss placed on to of the cage to cover the bait from above. Hope this helps. Best of luck this season!

I've caught a few fisher but I always used a ground cubby. I figured If the fisher was already on the ground why force It to climb a tree to get caught.

I agree Beav. If legal I'll set on the ground unless there is a heavy snow.
