Mulberries

Mulberries - 06/18/22 10:23 PM

My son collected 14 cups of Mulberries. We crushed them, filtered them and made syrup to use on our DP’s this fall. We got 2 quarts canned and sealed.
Anyone else ever try this or am I crazy and wasting my time?

Not just coon. I regularly use WCS Tree Berry paste for canines.

Not sure I have the time or patience to cook it down to paste.
This will be our first season of trapping and we are really excited.

Trees mostly died out around here, have not seen one in a long time

Be danged if I would use them for coons though, maybe the pulp left after getting juice out but not the good stuff

Thinking I must be spoiled. There are a lot of trees around us. There were 5 small bucks eating mulberries behind the house last night. Sections of the paved road are black with crushed mulberries.
Raspberries are 2-3 weeks from ripe. I like the idea of using the pulp from the jelly.

I use them too, not just for trap bait or my own use, but they make great fish bait too.
