1530 or 3:30pm

So I’m sitting at my office and I get a notification that one of my cameras have gone off. I don’t really pay it much attention cause sometimes the wind blowing something or shadows can set them off. About 5 minutes later I get a call from my son and he asks “Well? Is he caught or not?” I asked what he meant and he said “Looks like you just caught a coyote but you haven’t gotten anymore pics.”
So I look and sure enough, one pic shows what looks like a caught coyote. Now something is going on with that camera because it came in pink looking. But he was right, no other pics.
I head to the house, change clothes, then jump in the truck and head to check. About the time I’m pulling in the gate I start getting pics again. Sure enough, a coyote came through at 1536 and checked out a dirt hole set that was put in March 14 and got caught, lol. It was a first daytime coyote catch for me that I know of. I’ve caught coons and bobcats, but never a coyote. Don’t know if the rain we’ve had between then and now had something to do with it, but only had him by 3 toes.

I’ve found one set of tracks when I put out sets. Saw this one on camera a week ago (on this camera) and he took a left down the road instead of continuing on the feed trail. I put a set in where that road intersects with another incase he did it again. After every rain I’m checking firebreaks and feed trails for tracks…hoping if we get rain tomorrow I can check again Sunday for more. If I find a track, I make a set “hoping” it will come back through. I’ve even stayed past dark on different sections hoping to hear something howl.
This is more of a pride thing than money at this property. The more I catch, the better the quail and turkey hunting can be. The better it is, the more we get tipped during quail season, lol. The more bragging that’s done to the owner means I’ll always be needed, lol.

That Spartan is about to go bad....

Yeah, apparently remedy is to give it a firm tap to release the filter it’s stuck on, lol.

Might be the SD card going bad....I'd try that 1st.

I have a camera that does that, the IR filter is stuck.

Sometimes it works fine.
