This may be close to a Duplex Trap,someone help me out.Bruce This is a copy of a Donlon Trap Patented in Kansas City 1899, 13 years after Duplex

Don't have a picture Bruce but there is a drawing of one in one of Vance's Books.

I think that a Duplex Trap is one that can be set and put into your packbasket.Then when you go to make a set you just move the position of the dog to make it fire.Patented around 1919.Patent 1,303,265 May 13, 1919.Think this is it or a similar trap.

Here's a model that I made in 2005.Trap is in safety position.You pull up dog to engage pan, then it's set.

Thanks SR222, that is close to 1919 patent.I found that patent last night thought is was wrong one.Do you you know what company made it.

Thank goodness for Vance's books!

The trap was made by Oneida Community. One of the first of the "digger" type traps.

Good thing that Bob Vance had it right.It's funny how a trap that was a lemon over 100 years ago is worth a ton now.
