K9man, you're just teasing us, aren't you?. But, I just love the suspense until we get to see the picture.

You could email me the picture but I'm not going to be any help posting it. I haven't figured that out yet. Maybe I could identify the trap for you. Wissmiss@yahoo.com

Email received. The trap is indeed an old time body trap. It is called a Stop Thief. They came in several sizes. Yours appears to be a # 1, which is a common size for that trap.
Based on the picture, your trap appears to be complete and in good condition. Definately belongs on a wall, whether it is your uncle's wall or your wall.
If there is any stamping on the Trap, it will be on the horizontal bar that moves. Not all Stop Thief traps were stamped. You might try cleaning that bar with an old tooth brush and a shot of WD40 and see if you can read anything.
I would be happy to share the picture with others, if some one will tell me how to post it. Right now it is on my iPad.

Very nice - thank you.
That model trap comes in several sizes. The biggest ones are 2 feet plus long. The # 0 (smallest) is really cute. I think the trap in the picture is a # 1.
