Trap ID - 11/27/19 03:41 AM

Here's a trap currently doing pretty well on ebay - anyone have any info on it? No markings that I can see.

Never seen anything like it, but the spring design looks pretty weak. It would hold a rabbit I guess.

I vaguely remember seeing something like it several years ago but don't remember any details. At first glance I thought maybe an old Goshen but after I looked it up I don't think so. It's going north of $500 so far so I'm pretty curious.

Coil Spring Special made around 1915. Worth between $1500 to $2000.

they are called the "coil spring special" pat date of 1914, I'Il agree with kevtraps price if you can read the pan.

Also missing the chain, and it has a very unique swivel set up.

I seen that on ebay also. Does it take a special setter to set the trap?

Do you have any pictures of the swivel set up or complete trap?

Thanks for the additional photos - looks similar to a Triumph chain rig. I didn't find anything on it in Gerstell's book but Andreski & Parr's guide has it listed as a #4 sized trap made by JH Hutchinson, 1914. Not much info beyond that.

I bet that thing was fun to set...

Sorry for the upside down pics. Not sure what happened there. All good on my end, rotated while uploading. Anybody have that issue?
