Real Patina Hidden Under Paint - WOW !

I posted asking for help on my trap. Many helped. Snakecollector said it appeared to be paint. Seeing all the other traps with beautiful patina and mine was a blaaa black. I soaked it in some soapy water and used some baking soda and brush and it literally fell of. Of course there is some thicker spots in pits, but i'm super happy to see the result. Oh and the story behind the repair was man bought his new trap and set it in his spot. Later that night there was huge storm. He goes back next day and trap is tripped, plate gone and jaw cracked. Ligntning strike directly to plate and exited from the top of the jaw leaving a gap. Took it to the blacksmith and repaired jaw and forged out a plate. Not sure if springs were replaced as well. So the story goes.
