Newhouse traps

I have a Newhouse 150 and a smaller one with teeth, both have a lot of rust, should I clean them or leave it alone?

Trap cleaning is up to the person that owns the traps. Many say to leave them alone. Most collectors do clean them lightly. Do not use vinegar, wire or steel brushes or anything abrasive that damages the patina. Many collectors use a plastic or brass brush with light solvent like WD-40.
