I remember a old time rat trapper tell me he spent the whole winter on a hand drill drilling a hole in the traps so the stop-loss could be riveted on. He hated the job because it took every evening from Jan- March in the cold tool shed under the coal-oil lantern. The family of 10 probably had 800-1000 muskrat traps to do. He never did believe in them but it was required in the fur block they were in.
