Multiple Raccoons in one attic. - 04/30/13 01:51 AM
How common is it?
I have not come across this before.
Yesterday I removed a female raccoon from a positive set. She tore open a roof vent and I set the trap over the hole and caught her the first night. Removed six babies from the soffit with a little work (ok I forgot my sawzall so it was a lot of work) so if those pups were from a different raccoon she had all the time in the world to move them.
Last night they called saying they heard walking around the attic and this morning they had a racoon in their trap on the ground. I sealed the entry hole yesterday and it was still sealed. I figured they heard the one they caught walking around on the roof but opened up the hole (another positive set) and they just called to say I caught another raccoon.
Will find out tomorrow if it is also a nursing female. But this place has no attic so wasn't able to inspect anything from the inside.
How often do you guys find multiple females and/or litters in the same attic?
