Trap pricing question? - 01/06/16 12:17 AM

What's everyone's opinion on trap pricing? How much would u pay to have/own traps
Let's say rodent traps

Lethal trap- would u pay 30-50.00 each?
Cage trap- would u pay 15.00-40.00 each?
One way door colony trap- would u pay 10-25.00?

Opinions?

Rodents are a big category. Are we talking mice weighing 10g or beavers weighing 60+lbs?

FOR RATS,,

Standard kill trap is 1.29 and has worked for me,,,,I do not like the pro model
3.50? for the t rex? good change up trap....

I like the lt1 for a basic production trap,,,,,16.40 and always available at my local feed store (support local?)(except the trap is produced in china)
Comstock has a great "pass through" double door for?$

Bob small has a Multi catch trap at $100???

FOR SQUIRREL,,

Same as above less the rat traps

MINK,,,,,,

Cage is as easy as anything,,,,,and I use a 10x soooooooooooooo,,,,,(good cage price)

Will be great to meet you!!!

I do not like using wooden mouse traps for voles...love the lil black traps with yellow strike bar made by kness company in albia ia...thinking of running down to factory in end of feb and buy 2 cases. They are about $2 each...the victors dont last near as long

For rats I use the large victor snaps. I've caught them as a non target in cage traps too. They give me the willies enough as it is, I not setting out to live trap them. Red and flyers can be caught in the snaps. Greys in tubes, sometimes in cages.

Is 45.00 a reasonable price to ask for a new rodent lethal trap?

Re: Trap pricing question? - 01/11/16 04:17 AM

What rodent u talkin about? For mice or voles i am settin 10 plus traps per customer...$45 a trap wouldnt be worth it...now if it is a multicatch trap then mbe $45 makes sense

Blind question, would have to see the trap.

I think there would have to be an obvious advantage to the new trap in order to convince people to change to a new style. Durability, effectiveness, ease of setting... That sort of thing.

Durability/effectiveness/flush mount/ lethal trap...

Visit Wildlife Control Supplies website and Fur Harvesters Trading Post website. Find the traps you are referring to. That's what I would pay.

I wouldnt pay $45 for a rat trap. I thought the $8 t rex was pushing it.

However, a multi catch lethal rat trap I would pay $45 for. They may an electronic mouse trap that is multi catch. If I did enough of it I would get one.

THis is the mouse trap. If you made a reapeating ratter that killed them I would be in

I think cost isn't as important as durability and effectiveness. Many in this industry just want products that we can rely upon. Cost is a one time concern and the right products make us money regardless of the cost

Any thoughts on that new trap at the expo?

Re: Trap pricing question? - 01/21/16 10:39 PM

Well when I get my hands on a few I'll let you know. Clearly we haven't seen anything as heavy duty as those and it looks to take off where the tube trap is left behind.

I definitely see a need for this trap, but like anything else it's another tool in my tool box

Lethal trap... Tube traps are $32.50 each with the armor coted ones $39.50 each so yes, 30-50 seems reasonable for an equivalent/better trap
Cage traps... WCS squirrel specials run $33.50 each and although they are a great trap I hate paying that much for a 5x5x18" trap- bus like any other tool its an investment.
One way's... No, I refuse to pay that much for them. They are easy to make and with my brake and a roll of wire I can have a pile of them in no time

Any new Comstock or deKalb traps? I'm workin on bringing a couple new traps to market

Re: Trap pricing question? - 02/16/16 05:34 AM

Proto type springs are back, traps need some fine tuning, once done my production order will go in for mass quantity of springs....
Developing/creating new traps sure is a lot of Hassel. This will get the job done for sure.
