I've tried it, but won't use it. Solar Seal is a chemical cure meant to be used outdoors only and some clients may be sensitive to the gas given off during the cure process. Operators like it because it is very sticky and self leveling. That means, no tooling can be done to ensure proper sealing so you have to make sure prep work is correct before using it. This means that if you're going to use it, you should be installing a bond breaker first and then Solar Seal. I won't go into what self leveling or a bond breaker is as I've covered those topics many times in the past here, in WCT Magazine, and in WCT trainings. Application restrictions with bead size, moisture, surface temperature and ambient temperature are about the same as other sealants although Solar Seal does have a 28 day cure time frame whereas most silicon products will cure 95% in 7 days. Also, due to the long curing time, night time temperatures become more important than with many other sealants.
