Deterrents are worthless. Try banana in your cages and offer an exclusion with posi-set

DHH, agree with airport on exclusion. What does the entryway look like? Wooden stairs or concrete, are they under the crawlspace if there is one?

Have been seeing litters of various species the last few weeks, is this a place where you could have a lactating female with a dependent litter under there or
just somewhere they are going in and out of that is totally visible?

We do mostly 100% exclusion in one part of our service area and the coontroller from WCS and even the smaller excluders with spring loaded doors work great in combo
with a camera.

If you can exclude the area they can have a long lasting impact versus needing you back every time a new skunk at the site. Also the cats you mentioned, are they feeding
them outside and causing a draw? If so, have them elevate the food thats out there if they won't stop putting it out. We have gobs of people who are in downtown businesses
that feed and do TNR (not something we support) feral cats. They won't stop feeding but want the skunk action to stop, thats a simple fix.

From May on for us we have to verify who is going in and out one way or another or we risk leaving a litter and causing a welfare issue as well as a client issue. Not always easy or
fun, but I'd say a good 80% plus of our summer calls are females with litters that are still dependent and not coming out or above ground yet. A good cheap game cam at the right angle
can get a nice shot of the business end of a skunk for diagnostic purposes. Have also been able to see full mammary glands and share with clients, have yet to have someone want a dead litter under their home in these scenarios.

Most of the serious "get it out now" people in our area are either dog sprayed multiple times and skunk living on property, or skunk died under structure and the odor won't stop. The rest most folks don't even notice them till modern security cameras catch a glimpse and everyone in the neighborhood then believes now skunks live there when before they didn't! Lol!

Anyway, what type of entryway, why are they coming and is it open to see or inspect where the skunk is by crawling or other?

Didn't you get the memo...to use SWEETS/FRUITS for skunks to avoid cats?

Anyway, Blackies Fur King or a similar sweet bait, heck, I've used cherry pie filling even, or strawberry jelly with grape JELLO powder mixed in for a double delicious smell.

Thanks for the responses . Lot of good information . Entry is wood there digging to get under . Elderly people so they don't always get cat food set up high Hence the skunk problem.will definitely keep in mind that there are probably little ones when dealing with this problem

Mothballs are illegal to use on the ground. They are only legal to use as stated on the label. They are also a carcinogen.
