Strange Calls from Customers?

I don’t believe that this has been discussed here before. Excuse me if it has.

What strange or funny calls have you received? What strange situations have you encountered?

I encountered an old gentleman who claimed to have nuns, Indians, and ghosts living in his attic. I told him that unfortunately I could not help him because I did not bring the correct bait.

Had a lady call and ask if I take dogs. She claimed my number was listed under a google search for the humane society.
I listened to her story and decided not to take the dog, instead recommended she'd call the humane society directly.

Had a lady that could "feel" the bats watching her

Dementia maybe the issue some of those callers are dealing with. If so, I do feel for those people.

Someone watched a woodchuck drag a large piece of plastic across their yard, toward the ravine where I suspect it was living. We have no idea what it was going to do with the plastic. The homeowner wouldn't have seen the woodchuck, but they were working in the back yard & heard the commotion in the side yard, & went over & witnessed it. The woodchuck saw the homeowner & dropped the plastic & scurried into the ravine.

Probably getting ready for bad weather!

Folks didn't understand why they had rodents crawling all through their house. I thought this was rather strange when I asked if they had food laying around the property, and they said no. Upon inspection it was obvious what the problem was.

Do you think you are able to cure that rodent problem?

This is a true story:
A very nice couple in their mid 70s retired to the country where the had built a VERY nice house and barn. They had never before lived in the country. In the middle of the night they woke to the sounds of a burglar. Husband called 911, got his trusty never fired gun (he has never fired a gun) and bravely snuck downstairs. The sound was coming from the kitchen. He flipped on a light switch and saw 3 raccoons trashing the kitchen. They fled when they saw the gun. Ha.

I asked how they got in. The lady said they came in through the pet door. I asked for an explanation. She said the pet door from the garage. I then asked if there was another pet door to the outside. After the house was built, they had a handy man install a pet door on the man door into the garage and one on the door from the garage into the house. I wonder if the handy man is still laughing or was he really that stupid.

I told the lady to put the lock pin in both pet doors and have them both sealed shut. I explained the lunacy of such an arrangement. She said “But the pet doors were for our cat, not raccoons.” Hopefully she called the same handyman.

She forgot to have the "Cats only" sign put on.

Problem would be solved

Those pet doors are crazy. I don't think they're as popular as they used to be though.

They are with thief's!
