Anyone have any ideas on trapping coyotes in neighborhoods where Phido and Mimi are running loose? mad

Same as normal and tell homeowners how it is done and what can happen if fido is let loose.

Use foot snares, like the Belisle.

Laminate your traps.

Maybe try a big cage trap, though I think that would be difficult. Might be worth a try, I don't know.

Check before day light. Make sure you have your catch pole handy.

An HOA hired me a few yrs ago for that....
I met with the Mgr and a couple Committee members, and showed them a #3 rubber jaw that I'd use...once I explained that cages only usually take the young dumb pups not the parents.
I stuck my gloved hand into a trap, showing the Committee that traps DO NOT break bones and explained why we DO NOT want to break bones, and foothold traps rarely hurt, just hold.
They took my suggestion and alerted all homeowners these would be set in the neighborhood and checked b4 daybreak.
I had them remind the homeowners that we HAVE A LEASH LAW to begin with and that by just obeying the law, their dogs could still take a walk safe from the traps, which would NOT be within 10 ft of rds.
They paid handsomely and it all worked out.

ALSO, had them teach the homeowners that leaving food on their porches attract critters of all sorts, and although maybe well meaning, actually endanger their own pets, and maybe kids.

Did a couple beaver jobs for them later, too....more handsome paychecks.

cable restraints. need a special permission from DNR in WI, if outside of trapping season, but not hard to get.
make sure no entanglement, as per regulations anyway.
and yes, what traprjohn said!

Hmmm. I didn't know CR'S can be used out of season in Wi with special permission.
