We have all heard it before: what can I do to keep moles out of my yard? I would guess cement would be the only way or live on a house boat.
Got any ideas? Maybe caster spread all over the lawn would work,LOL

Just have to keep after 'em. They require trapping every year, at least every other, if there are woods around the property.

Learn to know your job well and the animals expected and known behavior. Once you understand this real good all you need to do is explain the moles migration behavior and their tunnel networks to folks. If they don't believe it they will learn it in time.

I tell all my customers young, old, new and repeat customers the same thing when they seem like they are disgusted or complaining a little. I spend time with each client up front before setting traps so I make it clear as to what they need to know and expect.

It is much like mowing your lawn in some cases. It needs attention frequently in some cases if you are in a high activity area. You know with neighboring property or close infected areas re infestation is eminent.

Other cases you may go a long time without need of a trapping program once again.

There are lots of gimmicks and elixirs out there for the gullible folks. Some never learn and others think what they are doing actually works. Go Figure......

Bob J.
I always tell my clients that if someone tells you they will get rid of your moles forever, walk away. I had a woman call late last fall, I made a service call,(it was only a few miles away) I give her a price and told her that is was so late in the year that I could do a better job in the spring. I called her this spring to do a follow up, she said she was going to try and trap them herself. All I said was, that was ok but if she gets frustrated to give me a call. For me that is the best way to handle things. Just let her know I am still here to help. JMO

Maybe she'll call ya yet, Getting There. She'll probably find out the hard way that there's tricks us good mole trappers know that many homeowners can't quite grasp.

I got my 1st mole today. This particular yard is relentless. It's not huge, but is damp, shaded, & mostly surrounded by woods. In the particular yard I'm trapping, I got 19 last year & 13 the year before. And this year they are active already.

Every mole I catch I roll it around in my hands and comb its hair with my finger tips. Nothing eats a mole around these parts that I have noticed. Must be they taste bad so figured if I get that smell on me that virus won't like it either. I don't get close to folks just enough to talk and hear them. I am not around many people any ways.

I wear gloves and scrub my hands in dirt frequently. Nothing cleans better then good dirt.

I wash my hands a lot, wear glove if I go anyplace along with mask my wife made, stay more that 6 ft. away from people. If I have to work all detail are handled over the phone. All my paper work is kept in the garage and not used until at least 4 days old, each form has it own envelop and clip board, I do not process the paper work for 5 days. My wife wipes down any food item she buys, only goes out when she has a longer shopping list, I stay in the car.
I am going to start living my shoes outside.
