Do muskrats chew on electric wires? - 10/11/19 02:18 PM
I've been asked to remove muskrats from a pond because the owner is concerned that they might chew on electric wires that service an aerator. Has anyone had any experience with this happening?

Suggestion, not on TM thread, the owner could always run the wires through conduit, the gray type they use for pipe sets. It does not have to be waterproof, just rat proof. I would enjoy trapping the rats though, as this would be an easy paying job with floats or pens.

I have had several jobs with muskrats chewing on insulated wiring harness's and single strand wire. In coi pond settings and at golf courses.
