Otter sets for dry land.... - 02/03/20 03:32 PM
I have an otter job around a small pond that is kept mowed , so there are no trees, brush, or rough areas that would offer good set points. I am asking for advice on sets for an area that has clean slopping banks.Otters have cleaned out the fish 3 times in past years. I have caught otter before, but not around a manicured pond.
Thank you for your help,
Robert

Put a fish bait in your dirt hole.
Look for an otter toilet.
Look for where they are sliding into the h20

A cage trap set under water with live bait also works.

Jim,
DO you have a picture of the cage trap set under water with live bait or could you explain it in more detail?

I have used snares in sets with little blocking. Right at the water's edge. Use a pogo anchor with snares . Or I used #3 jump trap on cables work. U catch one then it's out of sight and dead. Not like the snared ones on bank. But I want to catch them and get out of there.
