Winter storm would be an Alberta Clipper which produces a few inches of snow an 50mph winds for less than day. Blizzard is 3 days of that stuff and a few feet of snow, on top of ice that snaps the power poles at 20 below zero. A winter storm is something no one pays attention to, but our news finds a few Mexicans and people from the south who end up dead in somehow getting killed in the stuff.

Here in Western Washington, it's a two hour late start for schools on the FORECAST of snow.
