Large mole runs

I was setting Steve's A mole traps today. There are surfs run. The largest mole trap Steve makes is to small. The tings do not hit the sides of the run. I could move the trap side to side. Any thoughts? Sure has been cold lately.

Maybe you could try the gopher trap.

Maybe try an old plunger spike style trap.

Perhaps you could pack in a little dirt around your Steve traps to shrink the size of the hole.

You can use a couple of short cut shims stuck into the tunnel walls with one end just behind the set jaws to funnel the mole down into the jaws. We run into those larger tunnels on occasion. Kind of like a make shift nose cone if you understand what I am saying.
