Predators Taking Traps - 06/12/20 08:14 PM
About a year ago I set a mouse trap in an abandoned barn on my property. When I came back, it was gone. I suspect that I caught a mouse and a predator took the trap. I'm thinking about going back, this time with my victor tin cat. My tin cat doesn't have the clear roof. let me know if any of u have had predators taking your traps.

Used to get Chipmunks taken in rat traps stole trap and all by predators and house cats. Put out my weasel boxes with same trap and bait in it and have lost none since

Weasel boxes are the way to go for chipmunks until the sqr. start to chew the holes bigger. LOL
I've had mole traps dug out. I figure it as a cost of doing business.

Had one trapper tell us that when he came on site there was no coon trap. Knocked on the door. Home owner said he saw a coyote run off with the cage and coon. At least he was able to find the trap about 50 yards away with no damage to the trap and a healthy coon inside, with a story to tell. Have to watch out for the larger animals running off with traps set for the small chipmunks and squirrels.

Bucket traps are the way to go for outbuildings. They keep on catching with minimal maintenance and don't get plugged up.
Shawn Woods (Mouse Trap Mondays) has a few versions to look at.
